Description: Visual Communications Intern

Job Purpose: Assist Goodyear’s visual communications team through the support, creation, and delivery of creative content for Goodyear with a specific focus on Goodyear's 125th anniversary. The intern will learn and support the team through the content development process: designed to inform, engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders. 

Responsibilities: The selected intern candidate will support the weekly planning and creation and/or delivery of creative content for Goodyear with an emphasis on photo/video editing, single camera videography, photography, sound recording, lighting and content capture. This position will also assist with filming, as needed.

The candidate will be creative, confident, curious, self-motivated, energetic and able to work autonomously. He/She/They must also be agile, able to multi-task in a fast-paced and ever-changing production environment. This intern must be knowledgeable in editing tools and have a keen attention to detail to ensure the final product meets, or exceeds, the client's needs. This role will work with the Videographers, Photographers and Editors to support the capture, editing and delivery of client content for internal/external use.

Interns can expect to…

  • Support the weekly planning and creation and/or delivery of creative content for Goodyear with an emphasis on photo/video editing, single camera videography, photography, sound recording, lighting and content capture.
  • Assist with filming or photography, as needed.
  • Support the team with project editing for internal and external campaigns.
  • Work with Microsoft and Adobe tools.

Applicants are required to have…

  • Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA
  • Experience in media production environment (including hands-on experience with cinematography cameras acting as director of photography, single camera production camera operator or equivalent) or related course equivalency
  • 1-2 years of experience with video editing and asset cataloguing
  • Experience with social media content creation
  • Interest in corporate/agency photography (environmental headshots, product beauty shots, product testing/usage shots, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task, completing several projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated and current working knowledge of all aspects of video and photo production (from creative brainstorming to a finished professional product for the client)
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud products (specifically Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Efficient in time management

Helpful to have…

  • Creative design experience a plus in digital photography, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Understanding of the Goodyear business or an interest in the automotive or manufacturing industries.


The selected candidate must commit to working part-time (20-25 hours/week) during semester and full-time (40 hours/week) during school breaks.
