Position Description:
Are you seeking an opportunity to put your exisiting technical , administrative, or compliance skills to use in one of the World’s leading Tire Manufacturers? If so, Goodyear is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to join a team with opportuntiy for growth and advancment. This role will provide technical and compliance administration and will function as the primary point of contact for the supplemental workers compensation (SWC) program. Additionally this role will assist the Senior Manager Workers’ Compensation and Health Operations in day-to-day self-insurance compliance, develop and tracking SWC metrics, support regional workers’ compensation managers and the leave of absence team, and file excess workers compensation insurance claims.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provide direct oversight of the Supplemental Workers' Compensation benefit program. Develop and track metrics related to number of SWC claims and financials.
- Monitors SWC claims advising leave of absence and workers compensation administration vendors of return-to-work, payments issues, or escalations.
- Partners with controlling to track workers’ compensation claims above self-insured retention and submits for reimbursement from excess carriers.
- Works with and supports regional Workers' Compensation Managers to ensure timely submission of SWC and Family Medical Leave Act claims running concurrent to workers’ compensation absences.
- Manage the workers’ compensation Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reconciliation and audit process.
- Complete timely and accurate filing and reporting of Goodyear's Self-Insured and Insured State Programs to States Officials.
- Perform analysis of monthly data in support of department goals and business unit needs, with reporting functions to Management, Plants, Auditors and Vendors.
- Completes initial Family Medical Leave of Absense (FMLA) template and provides to Leave of Absence team
- Serves as the Risktrac System point-of-contact on behalf of North America (NA), (including monthly analysis and ad-hoc report generation)
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelors’ Degree
- 3+ years of experience in technical/administrative role. Ideally, processing or supporting Worker’s Compensation or Leave claims.
- Experience in Absence Management or Claims Handling (Desired)
- Experience in self-insurance (Desired)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Interpersonal skills that establish and maintain excellent relations and credibility.
- Demonstrates ethical and moral behavior, unquestionable integrity, and character.
- Highly organized and detailed with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Inquisitive nature with sense of urgency
