Plant Optimization/Focused Improvement Manager

Job Qualifications:


  • Facilitates and coordinates the Plant pillar teams on all activities
  • Supports the Plant Optimization Leader in Plant optimization initiatives and act as backup
  • Leads Steering committee meeting at plant level (business center as needed) to ensure alignment and progress
  • Ensures plant / business team pillars stays on plan and report results to Management
  • Maintain Business team KPI's and communicate lessons learned
  • Educate and Coach the organization on Plant Optimization
  • Provides the environment to learn by doing and develop the framework for collaborative learning
  • Identify pitfalls and roadblocks to create an environment of open sharing between Business Teams
  • Participate in all pillars processes. Attend Business Team leadership team meetings and steering meeting as required. Assist education and communication progress to the site
  • Organize and Facilitate Site Steering Committee Meetings. Understand & manage overall Site Master Plan. Master Cost & Losses Models & Link to Savings
  • Participate in budget construction, ensure consistency with savings plan     
  • Monitor pillar progress of teams & savings against targets           
  • Understand and master the Basic Improvement Methodologies 
  • Mentor, Coach & Audit pillar Teams & Daily Meetings (DMS)      
  • Understand and master the Pillar Methodologies            
  • Promote exchange of information between Pillars, Areas & Teams             
  • Promote and Manage Visual Management Standards
  • Promote benchmarking and sharing with other plants


Job Requirements:


  • Should have 15-20 years of experience in TPM/ WCM/Lean/ Kaizens & Six Sigma
  • Preferably JIPM certified TPM Facilitator.
  • Preferably a Six Sigma Green Belt or a Black belt certified.
  • Understanding of Kaizens, 5S, SPC, VSM & other Lean tools
  • Experience of TPM implementation at shop floor with unionized staff.
  • Proficient in MS Office & MIS reporting's
  • Bachelor's Degree or master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent field
  • At least 13 - 15 years in management role within manufacturing environment
  • Experience in driving and implementing continuous improvement methodologies and tools
  • 8 to 10 years of experience of TPM and implementation at shop floor with unionized staff
  • Working knowledge and/or experience in implementing Lean principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of human related implementation issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good command over TPM/ WCM – world class manufacturing/Lean/ Kaizens & Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of tools used in Lean (5S, PULL SYSTEMS, KAIZEN Events, SMED, DMAIC, DEC)
  • Preferably a Six Sigma Green Belt & Black belt certified
  • Preferably JIPM – Japanese institute of productive maintenance certified TPM Facilitator
  • Computer literate (Proficient in MS Office & MIS reporting’s)
  • Ability to direct cross-functional working groups
  • Very good communication skills, good command of English and local language(s)
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
  • Tyre industry but not mandatory
  • Willing to work in Aurangabad
