Primary Purpose of the Position:

 

The Materials Coordinator – Chemical will support global logistics for monomers supplied to Goodyear plants, including import clearance, terminal operations, and related activities. This role will also assist in ensuring timely delivery of monomers via pipeline and truck to the chemical plants. 
Additionally, the coordinator will oversee SAP inventory management and associated processes for monomers.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and auditing Isoprene and Styrene truck POs to ensure inventory accuracy and on-time invoice payment to suppliers.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound loads with c5/c4 business managers, transportation providers and suppliers.

  • Support development and implementation of cost-effective solutions to planned and unplanned supply disruptions

  • Serve as a backup to the Butadiene planning process, month end close, inventory reconciliation and monthly PO setup.

  • Manage Isoprene barge discharge process, working with suppliers and terminals. Track and manage barge demurrage. Serve as a back up to the monthly shore-tank reconciliation process. 

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and align with accounting, monomer planner and purchasing on any discrepancies.

  • Follow proper processes surrounding administrative duties of raw material management.

  • Assist with the import process of Butadiene and Isoprene vessels. Track and manage demurrage claims. 

  • Process invoices as necessary in transportation management system (TMS) and or SAP/vendor invoice management (VIM) and manage past due PO’s.

  • Manage plant inventory systems through supplier and departmental communications. Partner with Purchasing and Accounting to support Supply Chain functions. 

  • Answer and/or correct inquiries on purchase orders and invoices concerning raw materials.

  • Work with purchasing on PO and outline agreement discrepancies/ errors due to price qty and vendor blocks. Investigate/manage the open PO and delivery reports for assigned materials.

  • Build relationships with suppliers, transportation providers and terminal partners.


Education & Certifications:

  • Required bachelor’s degree or in lieu of degree 8 or more years of materials management, materials coding processing, and supplier relations. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Inventory Management, Purchasing, or Supply Chain desired

 

Experience:

  • 3 or more years of experience in materials management, materials coding processing, and supplier relations.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical manufacturing. 

  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Self-motivated, hard worker, adaptability, team player and have ability to build relationships.

  • Process-oriented, data driven and identifies/mitigates risk.

  • Ability to review/analyze data and addresses responsibilities in a timely manner.

  • A good functional understanding of SAP and Microsoft Office
