Purpose of the position:
The Goodyear Beaumont Chemical Plant is investing in equipment upgrades and capital improvements to meet the increasing demand for our products. The Project Engineer in the Engineering Department will be part of a dynamic team that utilizes the latest technology and techniques to execute projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes. Interested candidates should demonstrate high initiative, be organized and resourceful, and possess a desire to learn about Goodyear's manufacturing business and technologies.
The Project Engineer - Staff will collaborate with personnel involved in polymer processing or distillation units to develop project scopes, estimates, and installation plans for process improvement projects. These projects may include equipment upgrades, piping modifications, pump sizing, instrumentation enhancements, and vendor coordination. This role will also coordinate additional project disciplines such as civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation engineering.
The Project Engineer - Staff may be called upon to assist in troubleshooting plant equipment issues and to provide engineered solutions through collaboration with unit operations and qualified vendors. This position will provide updates on project progress and strive to achieve results that align with business needs, projected schedules, and cost objectives.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

PE, PMP or similar engineering / project management certifications
-
MS, PhD in related engineering field
Experience:
-
5+ years collaborative manufacturing engineering experience (preferably mechanical/chemical focus).

Experience in cross-functional assignments or projects.

5+ years of project management (specifically capital projects) – Desired
