Primary Purpose of Position:
Manage/lead the quality assurance function for the Beaumont Chemical Plant. This includes the quality management systems and associated duties, assuring compliance through audits and other means, and customer focused responses to their needs. This function will support and drive implementation of the corporate and plant quality goals.
This position will also serve as Laboratory Manager for the Beaumont Chemical plant. The incumbent will provide oversight and technical expertise for the plant laboratory. The Plant Chemist, QA Coordinator and other Quality roles will report to this position.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary plant resource on ISO9001 and global product and process quality requirements. This includes but not limited to leading the internal audit program, customer and quality management review presentations, identify, assign, and track opportunities for improvement, author quality assurance procedures as needed, maintain quality assurance support systems (QSI, SIS, etc.). Data analysis, drive problem solving methodology and report out for first pass prime.

Lead and/or coordinate investigation, root cause determination, resolution, and follow-up corrective action to customer complaints, including documenting the formal responses. Respond to customers' special requests. Coordinate/participate in customer visits and follow-up as necessary.

Administer supplier corrective action system for the plant including documentation of supplier complaints, evaluating supplier corrective action plans, and gathering and assisting in cost recovery associated with supplier issues. Participate in supplier re-evaluations. Lead/participate in supplier audits, as needed.

Direct the laboratory function via the Plant Chemist(s) and QA Coordinator positions. Investigate and implement test method improvements and updates. Liaise with Research and Development Department to bring new methods online in the Beaumont labs. Work with 3rd party labs as needed for testing that cannot be accomplished in house. Effectively manage the operating budget of the department.

Support the plant, division, and corporate goals for safety, environmental, and quality. Serve as the plant quality representative by engaging floor associates in quality projects and processes. Publish/disseminate quality metrics as needed to ensure communications of the goals throughout the plant.
Education:

Bachelor degree in Science with 2+ years of analytical, organic or biochemistry

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry preferred
Experience:
-
2+ years in a Quality Assurance Role.

2+ years in a laboratory leadership position in an industrial manufacturing laboratory setting.

2+ years of managerial experience is desired.
Skills:

Strong computer skills with database systems, MS Office Suite, and business enterprise systems.

Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills.
