Application Development Consultant (OutSystems)

Purpose of position: 
The Application Consultant is a well-seasoned Information Technology professional, able to apply system-wide responsibility on complex components of a project. The Consultant will work according to requirements that develop through joint efforts with the business process groups. The Consultant will often participate and contribute to the actual detail work of the specification. When work precedents are unclear, the Application Consultant should obtain advice from higher-level Information Technology associates. Consultants may guide or instruct lower level staff members in project related efforts and should provide value-added input at team meetings.

Responsibilities: 

• Analyze, design and develop new processes, programs, and configuration, taking into account the complex interrelationship of system-wide components
• Provide system-wide support and maintenance for a complex system or business process. Maintain and modify existing processes, programs and configuration through use of current Information Technology toolsets
• Complete life-cycle testing (unit and integration) of all work processes including cross platform interaction
• Troubleshoot, investigate and persist. Develop solutions to problems with unknown causes where precedents do not exist, by applying logic and inference with persistence and experience, to see the problem through to resolution. Confer with the stakeholder community on problem determination. Make joint analysis decisions on cause and correction methods. Perform tasks necessary to ensure data integrity and system stability
• Write and maintain all documentation supporting primary area of responsibility. This documentation may serve as input for management presentations or as training material for stakeholder community and operations support group
• Draw solutions from others and recommend courses of action, all the while, growing understanding of company culture and business practices
• Expand use of current technologies and application design methodologies as they apply to Goodyear. Increase breadth and depth of technical knowledge by expanding knowledge base

Requirements: 

• University Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience 
• Proficient in English language (written and spoken)
• 2+ years’ experience in applying current information technology to specific areas of the business. 
• Working experience in OutSystems architecture design and complex enterprise application development
• Working experience in OutSystems Web, Mobile and Front-End application development
• Strong in UX/UI
• Familiar with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript frameworks
• Good understanding of DevOps including OutSystems platform knowledge and CI/CD pipeline integration
• Ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions
• Experience in project planning and progress monitoring using Agile methodology including budget control and milestone control issue and risk management
• Detailed, analytical and problem solving oriented. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
• Capable of working under broad supervision and interacting with user representatives on a regular basis. Must be able to grow and sustain customer relationship through delivery of stable working solutions and follow-up
• Possessing an excellent track record of completing assignments in a timely and accurate manner
• Participating as an active team member, practicing effective listening skills and effective collaboration skills
• Well-developed interpersonal & communication skills - this position interacts with all levels of the organization: support, staff and management. May also interact with external customers to consult on technical or business process expectations

Desired experience & skills (not mandatory): 

• Certified OutSystems professional
• Good understanding of the AI Mentor Dashboard
• Sound technical knowledge around concepts like either of C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Web Technologies and SOAP/REST API technologies
• Working experience in integrating different third-party systems using REST/SOAP
• Strong in OOAD/OOP/UML and principles of TDD/BDD
• Working experience in Data Modelling using either Oracle database or SQL
• History and track record of leading the team
