Collection Manager 

Santa Fe, Ciudad de Mexico

 

Primary Purpose of the Position:
•    Hands on Manager overseeing the Credit and Collection governance and strategy. Ensures consistent application of company credit and collection policy.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Management of the Mexico Collection local team. Establish goals for department/personnel and track performance.
•    Close management of the collection, considering client portfolio management, account analysis, past due balances identification and customer negotiations, visit customers if needed.
•    Identify and implement process improvements aligned with the collection strategy.
    Identifies and tracks large accounts that have been deemed delinquent.
•    Identify and lead process improvement initiatives, manage special projects as assigned by senior management such as: Mass Merchandise Portal, e-Collection, e-Payment, among others.
•    Recommend course of action on accounts considered to be a significant risk. 
•    Accounts receivables & Collection forecast (variance analysis).
•    Assist with legal actions pertaining to Past dues accounts. 
•    Lead quarterly bad debt review process. Develop recommendations for bad debt.
•    Help the team to reconciliate customer accounts, balance confirmation and ensuring timely collections of receivables.
•    Prepare local and regional monthly closing reports.
•    Support internal and external audits.
•    Leads the credit committee and participate in all meetings that Credit area is needed. 
•    Maintain a good relationship with customers.
•    Perform reconciliations with the company's accounting and taxes area.


Education:
•    Required:
o    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, administration, Industrial Engineer or economical.


Experience: 
•    6+ years minimum in Credit and Collection: receivables management, past due management, Collections forecast, balance negotiation. Including around three years working in the credit & collections department of a multi-national company.
•    Several years of experience managing a group of people.
•    Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
•    Demonstrated talent development and leadership skills, including experience providing ongoing feedback and coaching, and ability to organize people and delegate activities to accomplish meaningful goals.

•    Desired:
    -  Experience implementing credit/collections financial solutions is a plus. 
    -  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail.
    -  Multi-function finance experience in transnational companies is a plus (Example. Treasury, Accounting, Shared services for accounts receivables)
