Primary Purpose of the Position:

 

The Production Team Leader will manage the activities of a work team in a participative management manufacturing environment - Effecting favorable production cost through personally directed projects. This position must be carried out in compliance with Goodyear's business conduct, ethics standards, policies/procedures and all federal, state and local laws (including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002).

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide direction, leadership and supervision to Production teams.
  • Participate in strategic planning/resource management to assure optimization of resources in order to meet/exceed plant, team, individual and business objectives.
  • Sustain efforts in the area of responsibility.
  • Schedule production priorities based on customers needs and ticket requirements.
  • Manage, counsel and direct Area Managers in decision making regarding employees, safety, quality, production and cost.
  • Provide direction/prioritization of safety corrective actions, compliance and self-identified risks in the business unit
    Manage the scheduling of raw materials and manage inventory.
  • In the absence of the Area Manager, the Production Team Leader will provide counsel and discipline to associates (when necessary)
  • Authority to make decisions that deviate from established procedures (including decisions to make emergency mold changes based on poor press performance, track inventory levels) and adjust priorities based on material flow and equipment performance.
  • In the absence of the Manufacturing Director, the Production Team Leader will assume responsibilty for plant operations

 

Education & Certifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree or in lieu of degree 8 or more years of experience in supervising in manufacturing required
  • Masters degfree desired

 

Experience:

 

3 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in a supevisory role
