Citizen Data Scientist (m/f)

The opportunity
The citizen data scientist is part of the Supply Chain Data Science team that is responsible for developing and deploying advanced analytics solutions for all supply chain functions.
Main task for the initial period will be to support the design and the implementation of a solid and sustainable machine learning forecasting model to improve forecast accuracy and boost S&OP process digitalization. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the business, technology, supply chain processes, and data science related topics such as data systems (data sources, data gathering, storing) and business analytics (business reporting procedures & KPIs).
  • Independently perform end-to-end data science tasks (including data exploration, data cleaning, modeling, and data visualization) to support the digitalization initiatives in supply chain.
  • Develop web applications that enable business owners to interact with developed models and/or results from the studies of the Supply Chain Data Science team.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analytics tasks to draw actionable insights and send tangible data-driven recommendations to support the decision making in supply chain.
  • Conduct a research over unexplored data and current processes, then define and implement improvement opportunities.

 

To join our team, you will need:

Education: 
The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Data Science (or similar field) OR Bachelor's Degree in related field with 3+ years of practical experience.

 

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in a Data Scientist position: 

  • Experience working in operations (business environment) , ideally in Supply Chain environment.
  • Experience in data wrangling and predictive modeling using the open-source programming languages R and/or Python.
  • Experience in querying databases using SQL.
  • Experience in using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, Digital Ocean
  • Experience in creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced Statistics and Computer Science (Machine learning, data architecture and management, programming, big data & cloud technologies). 
  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical tasks into easily understood data-driven stories and share tangible business recommendations. 
  • Familiarity with visual analytics platforms, especially Tableau.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • Desired: Data Science certifications such as CAP, CCA, CCP, Azure Citizen Data Scientist Associate or others
