The opportunity:

In the frame of the Tire Testing Operations, specific Wet Handling and Wet Braking tests are done. The characteristics of the tracks are a key parameter for the Tire development.

Firstly, a method of track characterization will be developed with few tracks.  Then, the method will be proposed and applied to all the Wet GY tracks.


Responsibilities :

  • Study the possible surface characterization measurement methods (Direct or indirect measurements).
  • Define the best method(s) according to the specifications.
  • Perform the characterization of Lux & Mireval tracks.
  • The method will have to be clearly defined in the frame of the Knowledge Management in order to be used by other GY associates.

The student should be registered in the following Master’s studies: Mechanics, Signal Processing and Statistics.



English is a must. French or German is an asset.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of Matlab (With Signal Processing toolbox)
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Problem-solving methodologies
  • Out-of-the-box thinking
  • Strong communication, and presentation skills
