The opportunity:

Tire development is becoming more challenging because of  thigh limits fixed for exterior noise emission (Pass by noise regulation)

and challenging targets fixed by OEMs for vehicle interior noise performances.

In this context tire modelling represents  a promising solution to speed up tire development to meet NVH targets.

This internship work proposal is aimed to improve GY simulation capability for predicting tire contribution to vehicle interior noise (structure borne noise).

 

Project tasks are:

  • Dynamic behavior characterization of test bench/vehicle suspension system by experimental measurements (data available)
  • Using experimental measurement to validate a numerical model of test bench/vehicle suspension
  • Coupling bench/vehicle suspension model with tire FEM model (Tire model available and validated)
  • Validation of coupled system using experimental measurements (data available)

To join our team you will need:

 

Education:

The student should be registered in one of the following studies: Applied Engineering (Mechanics, Aerospace, …)

 

Languages:

English is a must.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • FEM simulation experience (Nastran, Abaqus)
  • Basic Knowledge on Structural dynamics
  • Data analysis software (Matlab, Excel …)
  • Autonomous and independent.
  • Willing to learn in a dynamic environment

 

You have to be available for 4 to 6 months (6 months preferred) & be enrolled in University.
