Internship in Applied Physical and Metrology (m/f)

The Opportunity:
The APML Compound Testing Lab is operating a wide range of equipment to characterize physical properties of rubber compounds. Inspired by technology available in the market, we would like to enhance one of our current test equipment to automatize the measurement. This enhancement will save operator time. The student shall implement this enhancement by installation of new hardware and by expansion of our data acquisition software. During the planning phase, the intern will conduct a job safety risk assessment and integrate the mitigating counter measures into his/her engineering project. After completion of his/her project, the intern will document the changes and revise respective work instructions. The student will be coached and supported by experienced lab engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Upgrade existing test equipment.
• Modify acquisition software.
• Document completed upgrades / update work instructions.

To join our team you will need:
  
Education:
Minimum 2 years of college – engineering school – preferentially electrical/mechatronic/computer engineering.

Languages:
Fluency in English is a must. French/German would be an asset.

Skills & Qualifications:  

• Programming skills (Python/C#/C/MATLAB would be an asset)
• Knowledge of database design needed.

You must be available for 3-6 months & be enrolled in university.
Ideal starting date : Q2 2024 (Flexible)
