Manager Compliance and Ethics - EMEA

About the Position

Currently we are looking for Manager Compliance and Ethics – EMEA to join our Regional team. The preferred location is Luxembourg/Brussels however, we are open to other Goodyear European entities (including the Middle East).

 

On this position you will:

  • Conduct, manage and oversee investigations of significant issues (discipline, fraud, bribery, conflicts of interest, etc.) at all levels of the organization including preparation, execution & coordination of the investigation plan and report. 
  • Coordinate with and advice other departments, e.g., HR, IA, Security, Privacy, to effectively manage and complete investigations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports and meeting materials for
    • (A) the Director Compliance and Ethics EMEA relating to progress on investigations, training metrics, and due diligence process, and
    • (B) the EMEA Compliance and Ethics Committee, including disciplinary recommendations.
  • Assist the Director Compliance and Ethics EMEA in managing ethics and compliance activities, including day-to-day interface with employees and business leaders to answer questions and provide assistance with resolving compliance-related issues.
  • Provide proactive management of the Company’s compliance programs, with particular focus on the EMEA region by working with local management throughout EMEA to identify and mitigate key compliance risks, update and develop communication plans and deliver initiatives related to Goodyear’s Business Conduct Manual, online training and compliance and ethics policies and programs, in order to support a strong ethical culture.
  • Provide continuous training and education on Compliance topics with the preparation of training and compliance communications, including  arranging for translations as needed.  Ensure that appropriate documentation is retained to demonstrate an effective C&E program. Remain abreast of external environment and regulatory activity (e.g., laws, regulations, industry best practices) to identify risks, requirements and trends that impact the Company and develop policies or mitigation plans accordingly.

 

 

To join our team you will need:

 

Education:

  • J.D./M.S. or equivalent from a top tier law school and admission to a European bar and Law firm experience  or an accounting degree
  • Investigative background and/or white collar/fraud legal or accounting practice, e.g., audit or financial investigations


Languages:
Fluency in English mandatory. Other languages would be an advantage.

 

 

Experience:

  • 7+ years’ legal and/or compliance experience, which includes significant involvement conducting investigations and, in the design, implementation or administration of compliance and ethics programs. 
  • Experience in international operations and multiple languages and cultures (including English and another language) is critical.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Critical thinking: utilizes logic and reasoning to understand, analyze and evaluate complex situations.
  • Strong investigative skills including in-depth interviewing and technical knowledge in conducting internal investigations w/ diligence, discernment and discretion
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong people and leadership skills, together with the ability to influence others with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively in business terms in a wide range of audiences and comfortable with public speaking & trainings presentations
  • Ability to travel in EMEA region
