OE T&C Engineer - EMEA Consumer Product Development

The opportunity

Goodyear is currently looking for an OE Tread and cavity Engineer for our EMEA Product Development Department in Luxembourg. This role is reporting to the Sr. Technical Project Manager of OE Projects. Your main responsibilities as OE tread and cavity Engineer will be:

·        Develop in a cross-functional team the design for the tread and the cavity of a mold that meet the OE technical requirements as per target letter.

·        Support manufacturing feasibility and the whole OE tire development team to lead the project to final validation and approval.

·        Define appropriate technical strategy definition and its deployment during project execution. Strong predictive tools usage (FEA and other data tool) to fulfill mold requirements. Intensive usage of CAD/CAM tools (CATIA V5 based) and PLM to support mold definitions.

 

To join our team, you will need:

Education:
The candidate must have successfully completed master's degree in mechanical engineering or physics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

·        3-5 years of experience, ideally in automotive industry will be considered as an asset.

·        Experience in project management is a plus.

·        Tire design experience in multiple product areas.

·        Knowledge in Tire & Mold development processes.

·        Knowledge in tire manufacturing process.

 

Languages:

·        Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a must.

·        Fluency in other language(s) is an asset.

 

IT, Soft Skills & others:

·        Able to work in cross functional and multi-cultural teams across the regions.

·        Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM (preferred software Catia V5).

·        Strong knowledge of our Product Development Processes and Procedures.

·        Strong knowledge in Standards and Regulations affecting tires.

·        Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

·        Background in vehicle dynamics is a plus.

·        Experience with Finite Element Modeling is an asset.

·        Analytical skills, knowledge in statical tools.

·        Rigorous & Quality focus.

·        Oriented for self and others development.

·        Open to share knowledge and experience.

·        Sense of responsibility and urgency.

·        Showing initiative - Being proactive.

·        Curious and open minded.

·        Willing to travel (< 25%).

·        RCA tools such as A3 problem solving and/or 3L5W.

·        Experience with Finite Element Modeling is an asset.

·        Statistical tools is an asset.
