The Opportunity

 The Applied Physical Metrology Laboratory in Luxemburg produces and evaluates compounds and related steel or textile reinforced composites in close collaboration with our Global Materials Science and Tire Performance Science organizations.

Your responsibility would include to maintain and upgrade exisiting lab test equipment, to acquire and start-up new lab test equipment and to develop new material test procedures and processes with internal and external partners. You would also guide and support our lab technicians in their daily operations.

 

To join our team, you will need:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in (preferably mechanical) Engineering.

 

Experience:

  • Experience in working (minimum 5 years) in an international environment is necessary.
  • Experience in the statistical design and analysis of experimental data is required.
  • Experiences in mechatronics will be considered as an asset.
  • Experiences in working in a laboratory will be considered as an asset
  • Experience in testing physical properties of steel cord and/or textiles will be considered as an asset.
  • Experience in the fields of data acquisition of physical quantities will be considered as an asset.

 

Languages:

  • Be fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of French, German and/or Luxembourgish is considered as an asset.

 

IT & Soft Skills:  

  • Good knowledge of MS office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of CAD software is required.
  • Knowledge of manipulating data from Oracle, SQL and Access databases will be considered as an asset.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C#) will be considered as an asset.
  • Be a team player, self motivated, open minded and a  good communicator.
