Project Administrator for our Goodyear Mercury plant Dudelange (m/f) - 18 months contract

The opportunity:

 

The Project Administrator will assist the Construction Manager in all aspects of the project including document control, recordkeeping, coordination, and translation. The applicant should be efficient, motivated, and willing to work in a construction environment.

The Project Administrator will assist the Project Accountant and Project Coordinator with the on-site accounting and internal controls.

 

Major Responsabilities:

 

•Develop procedures for document control.  Efficiently manage documentation for the project. (Project docs and drawings)

 

•Perform efficient and accurate recordkeeping for the project: process invoices, log change requests, update budget reports, etc.
 
•Assist the resident engineer and other team members to interface with the contractor, make phone calls, serve as translator during meetings, document meetings with published notes and translate documents between English and French.
 
•Help with general coordination of work on site, follow-up with others to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
 
•Issue purchase requisitions (shopping carts) and order materials for the team.
 
•Assist to manage and organize the project office on site. Arrange travel, accommodations, and transport for project visitors

 

•Make day-to-day execution of Goodyear’s developed accounting guidelines and cost control at the project level. Maintain the Local project change control process.
 
•Work with the project accountant to gain an understanding of relevant Goodyear accounting and budget policies to ensure all elements of the project are accounted for properly.

 

•Timekeeping for contractor work validating against invoices. Assist with audit procedures by providing document of material and work/time performed by general contractors.

 

To join our team you will need:

 

Education:

The candidate should have a Degree in Project management or any related field


Languages:

English and French required.

German & Luxembourgish an asset.

 

Experience:

•Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Access.
•General understanding of (or ability to become familiar with) Goodyear’s chart of accounts and accounting software for tracking project spending.
•Good math skills and eye for detail. Must be able to perform calculations and check numbers for accuracy and correctness.
•The applicant should be highly organized and professional, able to work within a team, with a good attitude and the ability to gain the cooperation of others.
•Experience in construction project accounting or auditing of construction related controls desired.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

•Ability to multitask, handling various aspects of the project.
•Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
•Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
•Understanding of construction accounting concepts, internal controls and potential risks surrounding major capital projects.
•Strong listening skills with the ability to take instruction from multiple supervisors.
•Good communication skills to provide appropriate updates, risks to the project and the ability to understand technical aspects of the project.
