Senior Category Lead - Reinforcements EMEA

The opportunity

 

1. Primary Purpose of the Position

- Develops, implements & executes sourcing strategies across two categories (steel & fabric) with multiple locations in EMEA and in alignment with overall category strategy. Deliver agreed yearly AOP targets.

- Leverages market data, cost modeling to support the development of negotiation strategies.

- Develops relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to focus on total cost of ownership, advantaged supply chain, innovation and continuous process improvement.

 

2.  Principle Duties and Responsibilities

- Category Strategy: Executes sourcing strategies in alignment with overall category strategy. Develop and implement strategy for relevant commodities. Leverages market data, cost modeling to support the development of negotiation strategies. Supports contract negotiations.

- Supplier Relationship Management: Develops relationships with suppliers focused on total cost of ownership, advantaged supply chain, innovation and continuous process improvement

- Organizational & Operational Excellence: Develops and nurtures internal cross-functional relationships. Develops efficient channels for capturing effective market intelligence and continuous improvement in our operations. Handle all VIM requests for EMEA to secure payments in line with operations and agreed commercial conditions.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration/Stakeholder Management: Actively participates in Commercial Council and serves as a key driver for accomplishing Council goals. Secure alignment and buy-in from internal stakholders (raw material planning, GRT, Q-Tech) on Procurement strategy.

- Building Organizational Capability: Utilizes 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process and Enhanced Sourcing Tools in day to day work. Collaborates with peers and leaders within the Category team.  Informal leadership to Procurement Specialists.

 

To join our team you will need:

 

Experience:

5 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or a related Operational function required.  Previous strategic sourcing experience required.  Experience in a related industry preferred.

 

Languages:

English is a must

 

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of core procurement processes and strategic sourcing concepts
  • Strong financial/statistical analysis, organization skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and SAP
  • Team player,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Influence skills and self directing and autonomous, and ability to cope with change, multi-tasking environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process, mathematical modeling
  •  International experience
