The Opportunity

We are currently looking for Senior Communications Specialist. You will be responsible for locally coordinating and implementing integrated communications plans on behalf of the Global Technology organization in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. This includes all internal and external communications for Global Technology associates across the Goodyear Innovation Center in Luxembourg, the Goodyear Innovation Center Germany in Hanau and the Associated Tire Testing Labs and Proving Grounds throughout Europe.


This position will also be responsible for external science, technology and innovation speaking engagements and media interviews by EMEA-based Global Technology leadership and associates in coordination with the Global Communications, EMEA Communications and Public Affairs organizations, and in particular the Group Communications Manager - Luxembourg.


On this position you will:

  • Regional Content Development – Suggests and contributes multimedia content about EMEA-based milestones and events to the Global Communications editorial calendar (including written articles, photos and videos to help proactively tell the company's science, technology and innovation story).
  • Local Channel Management – Manage local (Luxembourg/Germany) internal and external communications channels (e.g., news releases, media interviews, speaking engagements, GO articles, town halls, videos, blogs, digital displays, Yammer, etc.) to ensure quality and timeliness of shared content about Global Technology's priorities and progress, in full alignment and coordination with the Group Communications Manager - Luxembourg.
  • Meetings/Visits/Events – Coordinate with Luxembourg complex leadership and host very important person (VIP), media and customer visits to the campus (including overall planning and facilitation among stakeholders in Luxembourg and associated research labs, testing facilities and Proving Grounds).

Your Education:

  • Master's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Professional certifications are highly appreciated.


Your Languages:

  • Demonstrated fluency in English, French & German


Your Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience in corporate communications or in marketing/events at a large global company and/or public relations firm
  • Previous experience working in a research and development environment with technology communications skills/understanding
  • Global mindset coupled with hands-on experience working across geographies in a matrix environment to build and nurture relationships with diverse groups and individuals

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding and collaborative environment both independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines
  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, organize and follow through on commitments
