Simulation Technology Engineer - Geometry and Meshing (m/f)

Job responsibilities

Our Innovation Center is currently looking for a new engineer to be part of the Virtual Systems team within the Virtual Capabilities department. The main responsibilities of this position are related to the development of new meshing and geometry tools and methods, development of new model building workflows, and the generation of meshes and models for solid mechanics, multiphysics, and CFD applications.  This person would also be a part of cross functional Fundamental and Applied projects, and interface with our technical partner, Sandia National Lab, to develop and apply new techniques.



The candidate must have successfully completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related discipline. A Master’s Degree in the context of numerical simulation or an industrial equivalent expertise is highly desirable.



Previous experience in a research laboratory (university) or automotive industry is an asset.


Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced mesh generation techniques for 2D and 3D geometry.  Experience with CUBIT is a plus.
  • Solid modeling, preparation of 2D and 3D geometry for meshing.  CATIA V5 experience desired.
  • Code development using any or all of C, C++, Fortran, Python, Linux shell scripting, Qt.
  • HPC cluster architectures and parallelization techniques.
  • Parametric geometry creation and mesh generation is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of solid mechanics and FEA solvers.  CFD is a plus.
  • PLM software applications.  SmarTeam experience a plus.
  • Scientific code development and software version control, documentation and maintenance.



Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willing to travel up to 4 weeks per year
