About the Position 

The Technical Project Manager for OE/TIer1/AV is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of new Goodyear intelligent mobility solutions from conception to launch:

  • Work closely with New Ventures, business teams and technology teams to build products roadmaps in the OE/TIer1/AV domains, based on customer needs, company strategic goals.
  • Support new customer business acquisition activities: BOM generation, cost estimates & technical guidance to business development / sales teams. 
  • Ensure that projects are feasible and align with functional leaders so that resources are available to complete the projects. 
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, algorithms, data platforms, system integration and quality teams to schedule and monitor development planning and ensure that projects are delivered according to specification. 
  •  Provide technical guidance to the team as necessary for problem resolution. 
  • Ensure corrective actions are being taken in a timely manner. 
  • Ensure that technical development adheres to the ASPICE development process and milestone gate reviews.
  • Ensure that project documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Single point technical project interface internally for all ongoing Engineering updates to management. 
  •  Facilitates change management with customer, business organization and technical team.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Interact with New Venture teams, business teams and technology teams for the definition / updates of the product roadmaps. 

  • Collect, review, understand and aggregate product requirements. 
  • Provide inputs about project feasibility (effort/impact).
  • Align on project priorities.
  • Reflect project timing updates on roadmaps.

Team Management 

  • Lead and manage a cross functional team providing support, guidance, and mentorship. 
  • Assign team members to the different projects - coordinate the use and distribution of resources with functional leaders.
  • Perform managerial activities for engineers deployed to the team (i.e. performance management, associate development, recognition, plans performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and communication/enforcement of policies/procedures) and provide performance feedback to functional leaders for the team members not fully deployed

Project management

  • Develop and implement project management strategies and methodologies to ensure successful project delivery (adjustments of GIR) and compliance with customer standards and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project management tools and templates.
  • Ensure the team uses project management skills and analysis tools to track project progress and provide global/regional management reports.

Project execution

  • Oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Set program objectives and deadlines - develop timelines and asses the interdependencies between projects. Create and maintain budget.
  • Provide regular project status updates to senior management.
  • Manage the operating/capital expenditure budget.

Communication:

  • Establish regular communication. exchanges with sponsors, stakeholders, and gatekeepers.
  • Communicate with every level of our organization (from individual contributors to Senior Leadership Team).
  • Regular communication with Technology development leaders, Global Integrated Release Process Portfolio Leadership.
  • Support communication to OEMs and customers.
  • Frequent communication with technology development teams to review technology portfolio and maturity.   

 

Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
    • Master’s degree in engineering or computer Science, desired.
    • PMP certification, desired. 
  • Minimum 8 years of project management experience in automotive with active safety systems.
  • track record of delivering in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and management skills, Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Highly organized with a demonstrated history of attention to details.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of hardware/software interfaces & architectures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of PCB assembly processes and DFM.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of embedded automotive development for ADAS/AD.
  • Knowledge of ASIL (QM-D) and the relevant system, hardware and software interactions required to achieve the desired level.
  • Good understanding of the V-cycle.
