Vehicle Dynamics Engineer - Tire Vehicle Mechanics (m/f)

The opportunity:

We are looking for Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join the Tire & Performance Science team to support tire development and vehicle manufacturers through vehicle dynamics investigations and further development of virtual tire development capabilities.


On this position You will:

  • Support Product Development programs through assessment/benchmarking of the performance of tire/vehicle systems through modeling, testing and simulation.
  • Support Technology Development programs through development of new tire/vehicle test and simulation capabilities, enhancement of our predictive technologies using the latest data analysis tools in conjunction with up-to-date data science methods.
  • Further develop the creativity and innovation capacity of the team with a focus on virtual tire development.
  • Cooperate with vehicle OEM’s, external companies and universities to shape our virtual tire/vehicle development process for efficiency, quality and robustness.
  • Cooperate with tire design team and provide recommendations for tire design tuning to meet tire/vehicle performance objectives.


To join our team you will need:



  • You must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Control Theory, preferably in Automotive field.
  • A PhD is considered as an asset.

Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a must. Knowledge of French and/or German is an asset.



  • 5 years of professional experience inside automotive industry (e.g. at a vehicle OEM) or academia for vehicle dynamics.
  • Experience with: numerical methods, data acquisition / analysis software, instrumentation and sensor installation is an asset.
  • Practical experience with: vehicle modeling and vehicle dynamics simulation software (e.g. CarMaker, VI-Grade, CarSim), tire modeling and force & moment prediction software (e.g. MF-Tire, CD-Tire, F-Tire), assessment/benchmarking of performance of tire and vehicle systems.



  • Experience with driving simulator (e.g. Vi-Grade, MTS, static or dynamic)
  • Experience with chassis and/or steering system development
  • Experience with tire testing and prototype tire evaluation


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in vehicle dynamics or related area.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition and processing software, MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of functional system development approach (V-model).
  • Team player with enthusiasm and initiative.
