This role is dedicated to candidates based in Amiens, France.
Primary Purpose of the Position
- Lead coordination of communications campaigns and channels in the plant, working closely with plant director and serve as the primary contact person for HR, country Communications lead and other relevant stakeholders in communications activities involving the plant.
- Serve as a steward of the Goodyear brand internally and externally (local community), increasing its value to all of its stakeholders. This includes local employer branding initiatives, media relations with local/regional media outlets, coordination of Better Future program etc.
- Lead and coordinate efforts to engage with the local community, ensuring that the facility is seen as a responsible and active member of the community.
- In close alignment with the regional Communications team and country Communications lead, act as the company spokesperson towards the local/regional media and local authorities.
- In close alignment with the regional Communications team and country Communications lead, coordinate all communication activities related to reputational threats (crisis/issues communication) to the plant
- Provide support for change management initiatives in the plant, coordinating and communicating on change efforts and initiatives.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Execute internal communications strategies and campaigns
- Collaborate with Lead Communications Manufacturing EMEA to implement regional and global internal communications strategies, ensuring alignment with Goodyear’s overarching strategy.
- Adapt and translate communications materials to support key messages and ensure appropriateness for local audiences.
- Collaborate with relevant plant teams to design plans and create content supporting internal campaigns and programs specific to the plant.
- Create impactful and engaging content that effectively supports communication related to plant operations and fosters associate engagement.
- Continuously measure and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication strategies, making adjustments for optimal engagement with associates.
Manage internal communications channels in the plant
- Manage the plants internal communications channels incl. Goodyear NOW, screens, news boards, newsletters etc.
- Ensure that content is up-to-date, engaging, and informative, and in line with Goodyear templates and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Drive associate engagement by standardizing and building on channels that enhance two way communications.
- Take the leading role in the planning, coordination and execution of face to face communications channels, including employee events, skip level meetings, employee assemblies as needed and appropriate.
Serve as a steward of the Goodyear brand
- Enforce corporate identity (CI) guidelines
- Actively support employer branding initiatives
- Ensure that all facility branding consistently aligns with CI standards to maintain - a cohesive and recognizable brand presence across all touchpoints
Provide communications support and communication guidance to Plant Directors and Plant Leadership Teams
- Advise plant leadership on priority themes.
- Provide communications tools and advice to plant leadership to support building communications capabilities.
Lead and coordinate local community engagement efforts
- Organize and promote volunteer opportunities for employees, encouraging participation in local initiatives and events that align with the company's values and community interests.
- Build and maintain relationships with local government officials to represent the company’s interests
- Serve as a primary contact point for local media outlets and serve as a liaison between the local media and the country’s communications manager to positively influence public perception of the plant.
Serve as a local company spokesperson for the local/regional media outlets, in alignment with the country's communications manager and the EMEA Regional Communications team
- Respond timely to all media requests.
- Proactively look for media opportunities.
- Establish and broaden a network of key media contacts.
- Engage in key partnerships with other external stakeholders (opinion leaders, key influencers) to leverage our priorities.
Support change management
- Support the development of influencer strategies and the communications/change management portions of project plans
- With the support and in alignment with HR, apply a structured methodology, facilitate change, ensure completion of all change management activities in the plant and assess the change impact when needed.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated skills in organizational communications to shape messages, create communications channels, and develop and execute communication plans
- Demonstrated skills in proactively building relationships, influencing at different levels of the organization, and working with formal and informal organization structures
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong project management (incl. Change Management and the critical role of communications)., organizational and planning abilities. Resilient and self-reliant
- Demonstrated ability to work in high performance culture with a strong business mindset. Able to lead and engage in planning processes, establish priorities and evaluate results
- Creative, energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive. A team player who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives
- Excellent skills in MS Office with additional IT skills. Design skills are considered as an advantage
- Fluent in English
- Experience in working in crisis situations is desired.
- Demonstrated experience leading the development and execution of communications programs to advance an organization’s business objectives and strengthen associate engagement
- 5 years’ experience in internal communications covering organizational communications and organizational change
- Experience in communications and/or equivalent field in a large manufacturing organization (multiple sites)
- Desired:
- Experience in media relations and crisis communication
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environment
- Understanding of LR sensitivity and context within the country.
