The Goodyear Tire and Rubber company is seeking a motivated individual to develop and deliver solid remote access solutions to the customer in support of business needs. You will work with a cross-functional, cross-continental group of IT infrastructure and software engineers who refine links between tire design and vehicle performance. #hybrid 

The candidate will evolve in a global infrastructure development team which implements IT R&D solutions to support the tire design and manufacturing processes in three different technical centers, globally. 

Primary Responsibilities 

• Manage remote access infrastructure, enabling high-performance connectivity between long distance locations for highly complex 3D CAD software. 

• Provide end user support and collaborate within cross-functional, cross-continental R&D organization. 

• Maintain and patch existing systems. Plan and execute new installations and upgrades.  

• Coordinate infrastructure changes with internal and external partners. 

• Ensure the environment is secure and follows the organizational and industry standards. 

• Proactively monitor systems, driving consistent availability. 

• Explore new solutions, create value and increase customer satisfaction. 

• Regular work in CET time zone hours. Production-environment changes outside of the business working hours. 

 Required Education and Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science. 

• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience managing remote access infrastructure. 

• Hands-on experience with VDI and one of the high-performing remote access tools (i.e. VMware Horizon, Exceed TurboX, HP RGS/ZCentral, Citrix, other) for 3D applications. 

• Experience in one of the following domains would be an advantage: CAD system administration, PLM infrastructure, AWS infrastructure, DevOps. 

Skills & Abilities 

• Operating systems (good Windows Server and Windows client systems, basic Linux). 

• Basic network and security skills. 

• Basic scripting skills (one of popular languages: powershell, bash or python). 

• Good planning and troubleshooting skills. 

• Efficient communication and customer service skills. 

• Participate as an active team member, practice effective listening and effective collaboration skills. 

• Attention to detail and commitment to timely, high quality and error free deliverables. 

• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment. 

• Proactive in managing issues and problems, comfortable with ambiguity. #hybrid
