Primary Purpose of Position:
The Maintenance Specialist drives reduction in overall maintenance downtime, while maintaining Equipment Safety, Quality, Productivity and Energy Standards. This position coordinates all planned maintenance activities within the area of responsibility. The incumbent manages the planned Maintenance Optimization Program to ensure compliance to the Maintenance Reliability Strategy for each piece of equipment.
He/She provides the necessary engineering and maintenance support to the Production Organization in order to promote the production of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost.
Optimize storeroom inventory levels to sustain plant maintenance activities while minimizing inventory costs
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all Safety, Environmental and other required Regulatory Compliances have been scheduled and completed per requirements. Ensure all applicable compliance activities (pressure vessel, relief value, substation inspections, etc.) are scheduled/completed per requirements and report status to appropriate associates

Lead efforts to meet Maintenance Objectives for planned work improvement, un-scheduled downtime reduction and other performance indicators - Monitor/report on the progress

Manage the optimization of the Planned Maintenance Program and Maintenance Reliability Strategy for each piece of equipment (ensuring that all planned activities are value added)

Manage the stock of supplies/materials and maintain appropriate inventory levels

Support plant breakdown maintenance by:

Supplying technical support

Participating/Leading root cause failure analysis

Creating an engineering solution to design/maintenance issues (when necessary)
Schedule: Monday-Friday on 1st shift
Education:
-
Bachelors degree or in lieu of degree 7 or more years of relevant work experience
Experience:
-
2 or more years of experience in Engineering/Maintenance Management (in an Industrial Environment)
-
Experience working with multi-disciplinary Technical Associates - To achieve cost-effective goals

Equipment Design experience, along with working in a Project Engineering or Project Management role - Desired

Experience in Problem-Solving Techniques (DMAIC, A3) - Desired

Experience with Plant Optimization/Operational Excellence - Desired
Skills:

Ability to direct cross-functional work groups to achieve Operations Center and Facility Equipment Operational Objectives, Goals and Timeline

Ability to perform Computerized Layouts and Spreadsheet Data Management

Strong Organization, Communication, Business, Technical, Analytical, Planning and Scheduling skills

Ability to understand Plant Layouts, Capital Estimating, Associate-Man Computations, Tire Cost Structure and Manufacturing Equipment Processes

Demonstrated Leadership and Team-Building skills

Intimate knowledge of Maintenance Best Practices, Predictive Maintenance Concepts/Planning/Scheduling Functionality
