Primary Purpose and Main Responsibilities:

Establish, install & maintain wage incentive plans. Provide plant management with information, studies & recommendations to improve personnel & equipment utilization. Act as company representation in arbitration cases. Assist production with labor problems & grievances. Support plant/business center in achieving production goals.  

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  •  Independently develop time standard data & paperwork rates, evaluate ergonomic/motion in positions, provide data to management & union (if applicable)

  • Independently determine factory staffing & changes in labor requirements as necessitated by ticket fluctuation & plant capacity.

  • Independently conduct job analysis on positions, evaluating responsibilities, physical demands, working conditions & skill levels.

  • Coordinate with Engineering Department to conduct efficiency studies, justify capital expenditures & recommend plant layout improvements.

  • Participate & assist in the facilitation of continuous improvement activities & act as a resource to production members & make recommendations of pay scale & review as required.    

      

Education/Certification:

  • BS Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • MS is related field desired

 

Experience:

  • 2 years' experience working with multidisciplinary associate to achieve cost effective goals.

  • Experience in union environment (as applicable).

  • 2 years' experience in manufacturing environment.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  •  Ability to use appropriate computer based technology.

  • Ability to use MOST, six sigma, LEAN manufacturing processes (desired).

  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
