Primary Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing process and product quality by applying appropriate Goodyear standards and procedures to solve problems. The incumbent is able to lead the application of innovative technical solutions to meet product and process requirements.

- Acknowledged globally as a content expert, teaching others and developing new approaches to achieve requirements. Network with other technical experts to improve processes and solve problems.

- Utilize and apply understanding of Customer requirements (internal and external) relevant to multiple process areas. Understands the influences to the Customer from various functions.

- Develop and manage relationships with Suppliers and Customers (internal and external) and drive improvements in Customer satisfaction; appropriately representing Goodyear.

- Accountable to ensure compliance to applicable technical requirements across the manufacturing facility related to their field.

- Accountable to drive product and process improvements within relevant quality guidelines and standards using appropriate quality engineering tools. Drive process improvements regionally and globally, leveraging synergies across the organization.

- Coach and teach Plant Optimization (PO) and use PO methods to drive process improvement.

- Technical resource for resolving complex problems requiring the use of higher-level tools.

- Apply expertise to anticipate problems, and develop solutions with appropriate tools and methods that deliver defined objectives to meet business needs. Disseminate techniques to anticipate and mitigate risks.

- Coordinate multiple teams to meet individual and business performance objectives. Effectively lead cross-functional and/or remote teams

Advise others on new tools and methods to solve problems and make decisions. 

Be a knowledge resource in driving decisions based on facts. Lead team to consider alternatives and rule out unlikely outcomes.

Lead implementation. Use skills to address large complex problem solutions. Lead in data analysis.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT    

Be a recognized content expert and leader in project management. 

Be a recognized leader in completing actives and steps of projects. Ensure required steps are taken and all parties included. Lead project teams in developing plans.

Be a resource leader in project risk management and the use of process to manage project risk.

Be a recognized resource and leader in execution and implementation. Lead project closeout as a strategy leader.

Be a knowledge resource and leader in resolving project conflict. Anticipate conflict and develop contingency plans

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in science/Technology/Engineering/Math

Experience:

• 7 or more years of experience required in at least three departments, divisions or locations
• Demonstrated mastery of systematic problem-solving tools and techniques to address complex equipment and process problems
• Demonstrated ability to teach and apply new tools and techniques to improve existing processes
• Cross-functional project leadership/management experience, PMP preferred.
• Ability to teach, coach and mentor others
