Plant Optimization Leader

Lead all aspects of local Plant Optimization deployment aligned with regional strategies and tactics in order to ensure a successful and sustainable implementation.  Drive "People and Environmental Care" as a value and build a culture of "Zero Loss" while ensuring "One Goodyear Way.”  Drive the foundational aspects while installing the various pillars in line with the implementation plan and by respecting the "One Goodyear Way" principle.              


  • Provide direction and support the Plant Leadership Team on building the plant pillar teams.
  • Coach, facilitate and coordinate the plant pillar teams on all activities.
  • Act as key member of the Plant Steering Team and report to the local Manufacturing Director.             
  • Lead steering committee meeting at plant level (business center as needed) to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Ensures plant/business team pillars stays on plan. Report results to management.
  • Maintain business team KPI's.
  • Capture and communicate lessons learned.                          
  • Educate and coach the organization on Plant Optimization.
  • Provides the environment to learn by doing and develop the framework for collaborative learning. Identify pitfalls and roadblocks.
  • Create an environment of open sharing between business teams.                
  • Participate in all pillars processes.
  • Attend business team leadership team meetings and steering meeting as required.
  • Assist education and communication progress to the site.
  • Become the expert of all the pillars methodology while developing his/her own successor.          
  • Follow "One Goodyear Way" to ensure standardization across the company.
  • Communicate best practices and benchmark with other plants.
  • Provide Regional Plant Optimization Leader updates on status of implementation and potential issues/roadblocks.



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in management role within manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in driving and implementing continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience in implementing Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of human related implementation issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of tools used in Lean (5S, PULL SYSTEMS, KAIZEN Events, SMED, DMAIC, DEC).
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to direct cross-functional working groups.
  • Very good communication skills, good command of English and local language(s).
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.                                  .
