About the Position

Responsible for all operational procurement needs required for the plant.  Partners directly with plant leadership to assess needs, develop solutions, and proactively manage sourcing needs and plant store services.  Leader for site level procurement continuous improvement activities and cost out initiatives. Ensures appropriate collaborative communication is occurring between global category teams and transactional support teams.  Drives procurement policy compliance for all procurement activity.  Supports organizational change management efforts for plant in support of the overall business needs.  Manages and leads the transformational and change processes with on-site team procurement team. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Executes sourcing strategies at a plant in alignment with overall procurement vision and supports organizational change management efforts. 
  • Drives compliance to all procurement policies and procedures. (ex. open PO's, open budgets, pricing discrepancies, audit follow-up, delivery issues, return items, etc.).
  • Maintains relationships with local suppliers based on procurement supplier segmentation strategy and executes negotiations for all local contracts in alignment to meet financial targets. 
  • Define and lead productivity improvement strategy for the plant.  Identifies and implements cost out and productivity improvements.
  • Balances the Goodyear Buying Center deliverables with the stakeholder needs. 
  • Responsible for all procurement value creation and budgets for material and services planning for the plant. 
  • Support store room operations and management vendor supply and fulfillment to the store.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field).
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Project Management certification preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in procurement, supply chain or materials management required. 
  • Proficient negotiation abilities and application of strategic sourcing process. 
  • Strong relationship management skills.  Ability to manage vendors and groom relationships. 

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience applying project management principles and change management tools in a business setting.  Ability to influence and drive change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to relate and connect with multiple levels within the organization.
  • Proficient with multiple procurement systems- SAP, SRM and Outlook.
