Automation Technician for our Mercury plant (m/f)

The opportunity

Currently we are looking for Automation Technician for our Mercury plant. On this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be part of an innovative, highly automated tire production plant in collaboration with a diverse, international team
  • Work with the latest technology in a digitalized environment
  • Develop your skills on preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, including mechanical, electrical maintenance and maintenance of industrial automation systems (PLCs)Seek and implement new ideas to drive safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Drive to zero equipment breakdown by implementing and updating autonomous maintenance practices and preventive maintenance as well as equipment calibration standards.
  • With your knowledge of Rockwell programming, lead failure diagnosis and drive zero failure corrective action implementation 
  • Share your knowledge to team members to improve their troubleshooting skills
  • Create new HMI functions to respond to the need of the production
  • Improve productivity (cycle time, waste management, etc.) by tuning automation software


To join our team you will need: 



  • Bachelor in mechatronics / automation / electrical engineering or a technical degree with equivalent experience



  • Good knowledge of English. French and or German are considered an asset



  • 5+ years of working experience in manufacturing environment is a considerable asset
  • Ether Net/IP Network experience desired

  • Data and configuration management skills
  • Knowledge of PLCs
  • Programming skills: Rockwell, Siemens or similar
  • Good problem-solving skills (DMAIC approach)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing 
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills - combined with the capability to lead and coach co-workers
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to resolve issues.
  • Position requires shift, evening, night and weekend work assignments
