Senior Technician - Replace Shiftleader

The opportunity

Currently we are looking for Senior Technician - Replace Shift Leader for our Mercury plant (Dudelange). On this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Ramp up an innovative, highly automated tire production plant in collaboration with a diverse, international engineering team,
• Work with the latest technology in a digitalized environment, 
• Seek and implement new ideas to drive safety, quality, and reliability and productivity,
• Grow in your career as a permanent shift leader by leading a team of skilled technicians,
• Participate in the continuous optimization of the work environment and processes. 

Your responsibilities:

• Ensure quality standards and meeting daily production requirements for your area,
• Manage the operators during their shift to achieve the daily objectives based on KPIs,
• Drive to zero equipment breakdown by implementing best practices and preventative maintenance,
• Operate some workstations as needed to support daily production.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair breakdowns, equipment malfunctions
• Support development of training materials related to machine reliability and operations.
• Train others on machine/equipment setup and operations.
• Manage Identification and implementation of improvements for increased productivity,
• Management and implementation of corrective maintenance (red tags)
• Monitoring of production performances,
• As a first line manager, ensure the reporting to the shift leader of your area,
• Replace the shift leader in case of absence, lead the team and assure performance in terms of safety, quality, delivery and cost

To join our team you will need the following qualifications:
•    Leading experience (minimum 1-2 years),
•    Bachelor in mechatronics / automation / electrical engineering or a technical degree with equivalent experience
•    5+ years of working experience in manufacturing environment is a considerable asset,
 

We are looking for the following skills: 

• Good knowledge of English (B1 Level). French and or German are considered an asset,
• Good problem-solving skills and self-initiative,
• Strong teamwork skills - combined with the capability to lead co-workers,
• Results-driven and ability to influence associates to achieve common goals,
• Sense of urgency and commitment to resolve issues,
• Desire to coach junior associates, develop situational leadership skills, take responsibility of shift results,
• Position requires shift, evening, night, and weekend work assignments (24/7 Operation)
