Position: Safety Coordinator / EHS Leader

Primary Purpose

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment by developing, implementing, and enforcing effective safety policies, programs, and procedures. This role proactively identifies and mitigates risks, ensures compliance with applicable regulations, and fosters a culture of safety through continuous training and employee engagement. By integrating safety into daily operations, the position reduces workplace hazards, prevents incidents, and supports overall operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and execute the company’s EHS Policy, ensuring understanding and compliance among all employees under their supervision.

• Design and implement workplace safety programs and policies aligned with corporate and regulatory standards.

• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to detect and mitigate potential hazards.

• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Lead safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

• Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations and standards.

• Oversee the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce adherence.

• Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.

• Monitor and analyze safety performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with leadership and staff to promote a safety-first culture.

• Integrate safety considerations into equipment and process design.

• Lead and manage safety committees and encourage active worker participation.

• Develop, train, and lead team members under their supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field).

• Experience: 4–6 years of experience in safety coordination or related roles.

• Language: Intermediate English (minimum).
