AP Reliability Manager

Primary Purpose of the Position

  • General accountability for plant reliability performance in all plants in the AP Region (9 plants). Specific accountability to follow specific strategies to improve plant reliability performance and the related services available at the plant level.
  • Continuously work with the plant engineering teams to improve workplace safety, quality, and equipment reliability & availability, in an environment free of accidents emphasizing safety as a value.
  • Lead the RE pillar at regional level and ensure the implementation of systems and processes according to the methodology of Plant Optimization, ensuring standardization and tracking processes across the regional footprint.
  • Support and update performance scorecards to visually demonstrate gains in the space of reliability, safety and energy conservation.
  • Support compliance activities at plant level using guidelines of EHS&S Management, Quality Systems, Corporate and Legal requirements, following the standards and policies established, as well commitment to high standards of business conduct and Ethical behavior.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaison between Global / Regional organization and the plants in subjects such as: Associate safety, Equipment Reliability, Maintenance Cost, Plant Energy Management & Facilities Infrastructure Maintenance.
  • Responsible to support Plant Engineering Organizations across the entire AP footprint to drive business value and success in the deployment of strategical initiatives.  Serve as a technical resource to plant engineering team.
  • Provide technical advice to AP regional management on Engineering and maintenance issues. Serve as technical resource to the Regional Manufacturing team. Track and Communicate progress on Regional KPI’s related to reliability/maintenance performance at continuous basis.
  • Lead Reliability Pillar across the region and provide Plant Optimization Support. Promote use of Reliability Excellence tools, systems, and behaviors in the AP Plants. Lead Maintenance Maturity audits in the region promoting Safety as a Value for AP Plant Engineering & Maintenance Teams.
  • Participating in Plant Optimization improvement activities mainly in the RE, DEC, EEM and WPO Pillars as needed.
  • Tactical Reliability Programs. Perform benchmarking activities on new equipment and processes. Improved facility and utility reliability. Protect operational integrity of the existing capital assets (Fire Protection plans).  Participate in selection and implementation of CAPEX Projects in the Region for addressing obsolete parts elimination.
  • Coach and guide engineering organization and new hire onboarding.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Required 10+ years of progressive experience in leadership assignment in an international & matrix organization.
  • At least 7 or more years leading and managing teams in a technical / product organization across multi-countries.
  • Preferably has 5+ years of experience in a engineering leadership position in the tire or automotive industry (highly technical product environment).
  • Solid and proven experience with securing business success through managing relationships with various internal & external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated technical acumen to engage, interact and direct technology resources.
  • Start-up minded - Creativity and “think big” perspective to bring fresh ideas to strategy.
  • Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well-reasoned solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data/metrics to justify requirements, build business cases and measure performance.
  • Agile management style - able to adapt to changes in priorities with ease, comfortable working in a “gray zone” while defining the way forward.
  • Experienced negotiator adept at influencing stakeholders and 3rd party providers.
