Position Title:   Manager-Quality Assurance


Education:  BE/ B Tech – Chemical, Mechanical, Rubber Tech or Equivalent

Experience: Over 12 years experience of tire industry with at-least 5 yrs exp. in Quality assurance and Quality Management Systems.


Primary Purpose of the Position:

Ensure Goodyear QAI, QMS systems implementation / Control / Improvement and co-ordinate product Development, Plant certifications, handling customer complaints.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the processes needed for the Quality Management System are established, implemented and maintained.

2. Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.

3. Ensure the process audits at all manufacturing sections against the Technical Specification / Standards and QAI.

4. Co-ordinate with OE customers on New Product PPAP and handling OE related quality issues.

5. Ensure & coordinate product qualification testing in the Tire Testing Laboratory for New Tires and regular tires as per Goodyear QAI, BIS/ DOT/ ECE

6. Coordinate with Sales, Technical Team and AP Quality for all OE related function.

7. Support consumer and commercial PBU for BIS certification of imported tires from Goodyear Foreign plants. Accountable for getting/ maintaining plant license and production certification.

8. Highlighting day to day process non-compliance and quality issues to Manufacturing and Technical for necessary corrective actions.

9. Preparation of Monthly Quality Indicators report for the plant  as per QAI

10. Inspect field return tires and highlighting the Tire Adjustment data  for necessary corrective actions in product and process.

11. Facilitate Global Process compliance audit and QMS  activities throughout the plant and coordinate the same with region.

12. Ensure all the Documents and Records of QAI, process compliance, QMS and OE Customer Specific Requirements are met and maintained.

13. Responsible to establish, monitor and improve the system of Out Going Product Quality

17. Handling OEM complaints effectively in time and also coordinating with respective section in Plant for necessary corrective and preventive actions.

18. Support to Manufacturing on coaching, training on system / product for continual improvement to meet Customer requirements.

19. Plant quality certifications & licenses.
