About the Position
The Manager Engineering will Implement timely & cost effective capital projects to sustain or improve operational efficiency & compliance with regulatory agencies. Maintain transportation systems & production facilities for the product supply chain. Plan & manage the plant’s utilities requirements to meet production needs. Analyze & coordinate the plant’s energy consumption to reduce costs.
Functionally responsible for all engineering & maintenance activities in the plant. Ensure systems & procedures are properly designed & fully implemented. Be responsible for Audit compliance and Preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities

Ensure asset efficiencies are met, reduce energy consumption, direct engineering & maintenance & standardize best practices.

Collect & analyze steam, gas, nitrogen, river water & effluent outfalls to communicate energy use against established goals to plant & corporate personnel.

Develop algorithms to project utility usage & cost for the annual AOP & monthly estimates for the procurement of all utilities. Develop, design, budget, construct & control cost & schedule for capital & expense projects.

Direct repair & construction of railroads, plant roofs, underground storm, sanitary & process waste systems.

Assist General Manager Merchandising Materials Control by preparing operating lease budgets for rail cars & fork trucks from FASB-13 information
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor's Degree in engineering required
-
10 years' experience managing a complex manufacturing maintenance/engineering environment.

Supervisory experience.
Skills and Abilities
-
Training in, knowledge & use of Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma & Troubleshooting methodologies is desirable.

Must have knowledge of engineering standards such as NFPA, OHSA, ASME, API, UBC, etc. & be able to problem solve.

Understanding of environmental regulations for air, water & solid waste.

Solid understanding of pump curves & piping systems, machine design & process design including blue print reading, process flow diagrams & piping & instrumentation diagrams. Working knowledge of equipment & processes.
