About the Position:
The project electrical engineer is responsible to for defined engineering functions within the plant. They will coordinate electrical and mechanical requirements for engineering project assignments. This position is also responsible for the design, revision, modification, layout, and requisition of plant machinery and equipment to insure a steady and continuous production flow. Tracking of capital jobs along with start-up and troubleshooting of new manufacturing equipment. Must be able to adjust, troubleshoot and repair electronic and electrical systems in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Job Duties:
- Start-up and troubleshooting of new and revised equipment.
- Revising, adapting, or redesigning components and/or systems that become obsolete. Installing, adjusting, troubleshooting, and repairing automatic electronic and electrical systems
- Implement processes that meet internal and external customer requirements. Develop and implement machine technology upgrades to improve quality, productivity, and safety. Support the evaluation of new products, processes, and methods.
- Prepare cost estimates, financially justify projects, prepare budgets, review design, supervise installation and commissioning.
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of all equipment in the plant. Transfer that knowledge to hourly maintenance craftsmen to better enable them to repair/maintain plant equipment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required
Experience:
- 4 + years of experience working with multidisciplinary engineering & maintenance associates to achieve cost effective goals.
- 4 + years’ experience with PLC's, AC / DC variable speed drives, electronic test equipment and calibration of electronic devices
- Functional knowledge of voltages through 480v
- Equipment design experience & project engineering or project management role is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Practical understanding of science and technology in the appropriate discipline
- Proficiency in statistical design and analysis; cause and effect analysis and risk analysis
- Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized method
- Basic organization, communication, and experimentation skills
- PLC programming and debugging
