About the Position:
The Technology Engineer will insure the quality of new products & processes, implement technology transfer projects, resolve product performance issues & implement cost savings program.
This position supports the North American plants by interfacing with mold design engineers & corporate functions such as Tire Technology Engineering Applications. This position is a technical resource which links technology systems, computer systems & quality systems with manufacturing processes & products. The incumbent is capable of performing his/her tasks with limited guidance.
Support plant by interfacing with plant manufacturing, engineering & other internal & external organizations. Ensure product & quality systems integrity. Implement new products & processes & resolve product performance issues. Drive & improve customer satisfaction of products & services through contact with customers
Must provide accurate computer aided manufacturing files for the procurement of tire molds and related equipment. Fully understands all basic aspects of Computer Aided Manufacturing in their area of expertise and understands quality requirements, standards, SOP’s of CAM and CAD processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform activities that involve working with CAD models to generate machine code used in producing mold components in multi-axis machine manufacturing
- Perform activities that involve reporting, data analysis or special projects related to maintaining/improving the manufacturing process using engineering principles & statistical analysis such as Kepner Tregoe & SPC.
- Carry out activities that involve facilitating development builds & trials, issuing product, process or material specifications.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Science/Technology/Engineering/Math Required
Experience:
- Experience in more than one plant desired.
- Experience in multiple functions at the plant desired.
- 2 + years of relevant experience desired.
- Experience in manufacturing desired.
- Experience work with CAD / CAM software desired.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to recognize, coordinate & communicate information in area of expertise.
- Ability to successfully use problem solving techniques
- Listening skills, conducting effective meeting skills & coaching skills.
- Statistical skills & statistical tracking method knowledge.
