The Network Service Architect works independently or leads Cross-Functional Groups (may be Multi-National) of Technical Associates to design and engineer complex and multi-disciplinary functional solutions in support of business requirements and/or to solve users to business problems.
The Network Service Architect leads efforts in the Research and Development of new Network and/or Systems Technologies to fulfil specific internal and/or external customer needs.
The Network Service Architect compares multiple solutions, provides investment analysis, recommends appropriate Technology changes and pioneers the deployment of new Technologies and Solutions.
Primary Responsibilities #
- Provide architecture and strategy recommendations to guide the Telecommunications Business.
- Provide expert consultation to other Applications or Infrastructure Groups on the interaction of Networks and Networking Systems on Business Functions and/or IT Systems.
- Engineer new tools and processes to optimize existing Networking Solutions (Transport or Systems) for enhanced performance or cost.
- Manage complex and multi-disciplinary projects within area of specialization and across Functional Groups.
- Provide multiple solutions to business problems - Leverages data to justify and recommend the appropriate Voice and/or Data Networking improvements that leverage new or existing technologies.
Microsoft Windows Server Domain Environment:
- Active Directory with domain controller setup, configuration, and migration.
- Federation Server configuration and maintenance.
- VPN/Remote access design and implementation with appropriate cyber-security.
- Proxy Server/Content Filtering design and administration for 2500+ users.
- SOX compliant security design and administration.
Network Infrastructure:
- Advanced networking/OSPF/redundant data-center across an SD-WAN/Azure environment
- Firewall administration with best practice security measures
- Site to Site VPN/ASA for Azure/On-prem/3rd Party core
- User VPN design and maintenance (In conjunction with RSA/similar)
- Cyber security with vulnerability/penetration experience
- Proxy Server design and maintenance to work in conjunction with AD
Virtual Machine Environment (Preferred Experience):
- vSphere/ESXI with shared NAS storage
- Deploying/V-motioning/Windows Images
- VEEM backups and best practices
- Physical hardware installation/maintenance
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business or in lieu of degree 11 years of IT experience
- 6 or more years of experience in the work field involving 1 or more of the following: LAN Data and Voice Communication Transports, WAN Data and Voice Communication Transports, Mobile Voice Communication Services, Small and Large Telephone Systems and Telephony Adjuncts, RAS Dial-up Software and VPN Remote Access Software and Hardware.
