Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Reporting to the Manager Direct Tax COE EMEA, the Senior Specialist Direct Tax COE EMEA will be part of the Direct Tax Center of Excellence and will support the Akron and EMEA tax department on US GAAP tax accounting /US tax. 
  • The Senior Specialist Direct Tax COE EMEA will support the Manager Direct Tax COE EMEA on deferred tax accounting, provision to return, monthly tax accounting/ETR files, Quarterly FIN48 questionnaires, follow up on income tax legislation changes, cash tax forecating (AOP), completion of US tax questionnaires, Pillar 2 filings, withholding tax formalities. 
  • The Senior Specialist Direct Tax COE EMEA will assist on technical matters in CIT returns and review tax provision and disclosures in statutory accounts.
  • The position handles (complex) compliance tasks as well as communications with all stakeholders and provides information to various tax authorities on its own. 
  • The position interacts internally with various departments and externally with auditors, tax auditors and tax advisors.   
  • Assist on deferred tax accounting including TX 700/701 (annual reporting on deferred tax), preparation of provision to return (adjustment of tax provision in SAP to the filed corporate income tax return), preparation/review of  monthly tax accounting / ETR file (simplification), preparation of Quarterly FIN48 questionnaires / follow up on income tax legislation changes, preparation of cash tax forecasting, completion of US tax questionnaires, preparation of Pillar 2 filings, preparation of withholding tax formalities (interest, dividends, interco payments)    

 

To Join Our Team, it will require you having:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible tax experience.  
  • Big four and/or US multinational company experience and experience in US GAAP deferred tax accounting a plus.
  • Track record of achieving measurable tax objectives. Knowledge of US GAAP (ASC74), local GAAP and local tax legislation from other EMEA jurisdictions in scope.
  • Strong IT and research skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience with SAP preferred.
