About the Position 

The Innovation Technician will be responsible for supporting the engineering needs of the Goodyear Hebron Plant. 
This position will focus on operating and maintaining equipment, developing and maintaining standard work instructions, verification and quality checks, and implementing improvements to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Verify machines are maintained properly, operate reliability & provide consistent “spec” cycle times. 
  • Maintain & improve existing process systems through calibration, process improvements, equipment modifications & installations. 
  • Develop/update preventive maintenance procedure & frequency. Drive to zero equipment breakdown. 
  • Follow production “pull” system to insure the timely delivery of incoming materials & maintain Kanban max/min inventory levels. 
  • Report any quality related issues to leadership & the material supplier. Keep a safe, clean & organized work environment to help prevent risk of personal injury & product contamination. 
  • Identify & help resolve issues quickly by working with your co-workers. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement operational improvements & roll out best practices. 
  • Support regional implementation of equipment installations, upgrades & repairs & provide constructive feedback to engineers, tire designers & leadership to continuously help improve this process. 
  • Take pride in your work. Know your strengths & apply them to help build a collaborative innovation culture at our facility. 
  • Seek & implement new ideas to drive safety, quality & reliability


Required Education and Experience

  • 2 year associate Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, automation or manufacturing technology or 5 years of manufacturing experience with a high school degree

  • 5+ years of Maintenance experience 

  • Experience in troubleshooting of PLC system (Rockwell)

  • Machinist experience desired 

  • Networking and Information Technology experience desired

Desired Skills and Abilities                  

  • Ramsay Score of 65% desired

  • Sense of urgency to resolve issues

  • Ability to operate both manual and automated industrial machinery

  • Ability to troubleshoot / improve automated, electrical and mechanical systems

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
