About the Position

Verify machines are maintained properly, operate reliably, and provide consistent 'spec' cycle times.  Support the facility in driving to zero equipment breakdown.

Follow production 'pull' system to insure the timely delivery of incoming materials and maintain Kanban max/min inventory levels. Report any quality related issues to leadership. Keep a safe, clean and organized work environment to help prevent risk of personal injury and product contamination.

Identify and help resolve issues quicly by working with the team. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement operational improvements and roll out best practices.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment following standard work procedures. Adhere to and complete cross training in one or more areas.  Support the facility in maintaining up-to-date documentation. Communicate any discrepetencies to the appropriate personnel
  • Verify that a quality product is produced at each station. Communicate any defects to the appropriate personnel. 
  • Verify and maintain machine reliability to insure proper operation. Adhere to Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) and calibration standards. Recognize abnormal situations and work with team members to identify and resolve equipment or process related issues. Assist in completing preventative maintenance tasks and work orders
  • Ensure incoming materials are received "Just in Time" and kept to the proper inventory level (via 'Kanban' or 'pull' system).  Verify all material is free of dirt, dust, paper, oil, etc. Report any incoming material quality issue to leadership.
  • You are accountable for your safety and the safety of your team members.  Take proper precautions to insure no one gets hurt. Follow environment, health, and safety standards/procedures and promote positive, proactive safety practices with your team

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma AND minimum 3 years production and/or R&D operations required
  • Associate's Technical Degree or equivalent certification desired
  • Prefer minimum 3 years industrial facility experience or internship/co-op experience
  • Experience in quality assurance is a plus

  • Ability to operate both manual & automated industrial machinery
  • Ability to follow documented procedures
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks or operate multiple equipment within any work day
  • Working knowledge of data acquisition, production planning, run charting systems.
  • Strong communication, teamwork & collaboration skills
  • Sense of urgency to resolve issues
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Willing to learn new skills to add to team efficiency & flexibility
  • Self-initiative & self-discipline
