Primary Purpose of the Position

As an experienced and highly driven sales professional with a strong business acumen and a proven track record of delivering results, you will be responsible for prospecting new accounts, growing existing accounts and working with wholesale distributors to maximize participation in Goodyear’s national growth and incentive programs.  In addition, you will be expected to drive market share gains in your designated territory.

You must be self-motivated and capable of managing your own time efficiently and effectively while maintaining contact with a highly experienced wholesale distribution sales team and key customers.

 

Execute Wholesale Channel Strategy

You will be responsible for executing Goodyear’s channel strategy within your territory by:

  • Identifying new dealer accounts
  • Increasing Goodyear’s sales and share of account across multiple channels of business
  • Providing day-to-day support to dealers and distributors to grow sales and participation levels
  • Leveraging national programs, training, and incentives to increase Goodyear’s sales
  • Training and developing behind the counter associates with regards to the Goodyear product portfolio
  • Monitoring/Communicating competitive activity, pricing, and positioning to help strengthen Goodyear’s competitive advantage in the field.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead sell-out activity in assigned territory to meet or exceed individual sales objectives
  • Development and execution of assigned customer business plans
  • Maintain and grow share of account with existing customers
  • Act as a partner with our customers in all aspects of account management
  • Create strategies and supporting tactics to grow with existing accounts in alignment with the overall Goodyear’s Consumer growth strategy
  • Analyze data/reports to identify opportunities within each channel of business
  • Carry out intensive retailer visits to promote, maintain and develop assigned accounts’ sell-out priorities
  • Evaluate/Assess competitor products, prices, and position.
  • Report relevant information to customer teams and evaluate trends/impacts observed
  • Assist managers in time-sensitive regional development projects

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Business Concentration - Desired

 

Experience

  • 2 or more years of field sales experience - tire, automotive or similar industry preferred
  • Experience managing strategic customer relationships
  • Experience prospecting for growth opportunities by developing and executing innovative sales strategies
  • Experience in consultative-selling competency
  • Refined communication and presentation skills (written & verbal)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service and new relationship development skills
  • Strong team-oriented mindset; ‘my team before I’ approach to collaboration & problem solving

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong MS Office 365 skills and demonstrated ability to learn in-house computer programs
  • Advanced written/verbal communication/presentation skills with persuasive sales ability (with a customer service orientation)

 

 

What we offer

The role will cover a large geographical region dependent on where accounts / customers are located.

50% - 75% regular travel will be required to service and grow your specific customer base.

Current on-boarding will be from your home-based office.
