Market Manager Mobile Operations – West

Territory will include: CA, NV, AZ, UT, NM, HI, OR, WA, MT, ID, WY, NE, ND, SD, CO

(candidates may reside anywhere within the established territory)

 

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Mobile Install division is a new business arm designed to drive e-commerce growth for Goodyear providing mobile tire installation. The Market Manager Mobile Operations is responsible for planning/executing all fleet operations activity (including oversight of equipment, vendor relations and managing daily field technology needs). This position will provide operations leadership (including fleet management, labor scheduling, management of the technician workforce and general operations problem resolution). The incumbent will be responsible for a designated market/geography containing vans domiciled at multiple Goodyear-owned Retail stores

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Asset Management:

  • Operate/Manage assigned fleet of vans for designated market.
  • Manage all field technology required for daily operations (including driver phones, point of sale (POS), Information Technology (IT) peripherals, etc.)
  • Ensure that all tire installation equipment in vans is operational and functioning with safety/efficiency.
  • Ensure that vans preventive maintenance schedules are adhered to (includes tire changing equipment/respective tools to support the install process).  
  • Perform regular audits to ensure that van graphics are in clean/presentable order.
  • Ensure that van fleet uptime is at optimal levels to drive revenue growth and prevent operational disruption. 
  • Regular communication with customer service center.

Field Staff Management:

  • Lead the technician workforce - Executing daily installation.
  • Assign drivers to vans/routes (after creating the daily route plans).
  • Route planning (inclusive of technician start/end times and on-time execution of promised delivery window).
  • Manage hiring, training and staffing needs for fleet operations (which may require working with the Retail team to leverage Goodyear capabilities).
  • Manage/Optimize fleet operations costs.
  • Train/Support technicians on new logistics software, mobile technology, etc.  
  • Execute/Support all new pilot tests (including new partnerships, operation tests and labor models for mobile installs).          

Planning:

  • Working closely with the Mobile Program Manager - Ensure that standard operating procedures are executed daily and are being continuously optimized, updated and communicated.
  • Optimization should include key performance indicator (KPI) driven factors (such as customer satisfaction, labor efficiency rates and safety).
  • Partner with Retail Operators to ensure that Mobile Operations/Retail Operations are working effectively (including refining inventory procedures, optimizing van store parking, managing wholesale distributor service levels, etc).    

 

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics or Operations Management or in lieu of degree (5 or more years of Fleet Management / Operations).

 

Experience

  • Experience in Fleet Management/Operations
  • Experience leading/managing teams (preferably in Field positions)
  • Experience managing company assets
  • Strong experience in hiring/training of personnel
