About the Position

This person must develop and implement the solicitation and sales strategies required to obtain Goodyear’s market share objectives, at satisfactory gross profit levels, ensuring a maximum return on investment. 

 

This position is responsible for maximizing sales growth opportunities by preparing short- and long-term business plans to maintain sales through existing business channels, while soliciting new sales opportunities through new points of distribution in markets that are identified as weak and/or void. 

 

A regional manager must council, support, direct, and motivate sales professionals in achieving their sales and gross profit objectives, and train and develop the commercial sales team. 

 

This position must also maintain compliance to legislation, health and safety regulations, and company policies with all company associates

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute 12 month, and 2-5 year business plans based on sales history and forecasting.  Conduct business reviews of sales, market share and profit against objectives, on monthly, quarterly and yearly bases to ensure targets are met.  
  • Provide support, motivation, guidance, and communication to subordinates, while monitoring the activities to ensure the attainment of their individual business plans.  The also includes prompt notification when there are price increases.  
  • Plan, coordinate, and stimulate the use of new technologies by ensuring that the appropriate training and development is made available for all subordinates and conduct regular performance evaluations.   
  • Maintain existing dealer and end-user relationships, while developing new relationships in market areas that have been identified as weak and/or void.
  • Maintain effective communication for daily, monthly, and quarterly data related to sales.         

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Sales required, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years managing and leading others, particularly in a remote environment
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines and projects with attention to detail and high degrees of accuracy.
  • Successful in managing a P&L for a business or portion of a business
  • Experience with dealer and fleet customer relationship management; Tire industry experience preferred
  • Successful sales history required

  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with senior management and customers
