Are you passionate about quality, process improvement, and hands-on technical service? Goodyear is looking for a Regional Retread Service Technician to lead the charge in elevating retread production standards across our network of company-owned and authorized plants.
About the Position
The Regional Retread Service Technician will plan, organize and provide technical service and quality assurance to all assigned locations (concerned with retreading quality products). This position will conduct root cause analysis, create new methods, perform equipment maintenance, provide technical support and process technique improvements related to retread tire production in (company owned) Goodyear retread plants and (independently owned) Goodyear authorized retread plants. The incumbent will provide training on production systems/methodology and business management techniques. The person selected will be the communication point-of-contact for all manufacturing concerns/questions.
Primary Responsibilities #LI-AV1
• Responsible for planning, organizing and providing equipment installation knowledge, equipment preventive maintenance and manufacturing audit support to all assigned locations. Maintain continuous communications with each location.
• Responsible to support each assigned location with technical support, manufacturing techniques, root cause analysis and field training (as required) to produce a quality/like new appearance products.
• Point-of-contact for the Retreader(s) and primary communicator of Goodyear issued retreading communications (pertaining to new equipment, new manufacturing procedures, elimination of non-Goodyear material and quality/training standards).
• Challenge the Retreader(s) to improve key production indicators (KPIs) - Raising quality/appearance levels and cost positioning of the retread plant. Ensure lean manufacturing through continuous improvement techniques.
• Challenge the retread plant to improve their manufacturing process with equipment and layout - Meeting the current business environment.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of degree 10 or more years of experience in retread plant management, retread plant training or tire technology.
• 5 or more years of experience working in a retread or tire manufacturing facility (includes experience in the retread industry and the administration of systems required to operate a plant) or 5 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Equipment Maintenance.
• Experience in business process improvement.
Desired Skills and Abilities
• Computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) knowledge.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
