Primary purpose of the position:
 Are you looking for a role that requires a diverse skill set in a regulatory environment?

 The Product Steward - Chemical will provide subject matter expertise with chemical regulatory compliance, chemical management and industrial product stewardship for products with industrial applications. In this role, you will develop, implement, and maintain processes and programs to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with existing international, federal, state and local laws, regulations, licenses, permits and ordinances pertaining to chemical product stewardship.

Principle duties and responsibilities:
•    Monitors, assesses and documents business impacts, resolve actions and communicates to partners changing or emerging product stewardship/chemical regulatory laws and regulations with an action plan for deployment and implementation of actions working with teams.
•    Provides expertise and knowledge of existing and emerging global chemical regulations, their applicability and analysis for chemical regulations in North America and other regions.
•    Provides complete and balanced required country-specific substance registrations, reporting, notifications and dossier development where products may be distributed and/or sold to support new product development and launch as well as growth of existing products.
•    Delivers chemical regulatory/ product stewardship/ training to the business, technical teams and/or customers.
•    Participates in advocacy efforts within significant trade organizations, product panels, and product environmental safety groups as necessary to elevate/support Goodyear Chemical’s position with innovation, development and compliance efforts.
•    Works with other Goodyear regional chemical regulatory / global product stewards to coordinate compliance requirements as applicable.
•    Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
•    SDS Management :  Ensure SDS information for all products, materials & sundry items comply with OSHA HAZ COM and country specific chemical regulation requirements. Act as primary contact with Global Sustainability group on SDS issues (authorizing & updating), support plants in obtaining/maintaining SDS information.
•    GHDS: Primarily responsible for compliance with labeling & SDS compliance supporting the Commercial & R&D functions. Also, responsible for defining customer labeling requirements & supporting plants in developing workplace labels.
•    Support the site on the implementation of Global Chemical Management Standard.

Bachelor's Degree.
Desired: Bachelors of Science.

7 or more year of experience in product stewardship role.

Knowledge and skills:
•    General knowledge of OSHA HAZ COM requirements. 
•     Demonstrated knowledge of chemical hazards & SAP is a plus.  Regulatory experience for geographies outside of US and EU, specifically REACH and other similar country regulations.
•    Experience with regulatory monitoring/scientific data tools such as Chemical Watch, 3E Insight for Chemicals, Sci-finder, QSARs, LOLI or ChemADVISOR.
•    Experience with read-across and getting substance level information on tox/eco-tox, OELs, in-vivo, in-vitro studies and other hazard classification data from databases such as ECHA, EPA and other agencies as applicable


Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience with Polymers, rubber chemicals and associated hazardous regulated chemical expertise.
•    Experience leading or supporting cross functional groups and teams.
