Customer Supply Chain Coordinator

Position Description:

Effectively manage the order to deliver process for Chemical Division Customers.  Be the point of contact from the time the order is placed until the Delivery of shipment, and responsible for coordinating and resolving any issues throughout the process. This is a hybrid position at our Houston plant. Three days onsite/Two days remote M-F.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customers to obtain and review Purchase Orders and align with Goodyear Chemical Business Process Capabilities.  
  • Coordinate with warehouse and shipping, freight forwarders and transportation planning to determine product availability and carrier availability to set ship dates. 
  • Coordinate with Commercial Sales Managers to resolve any conflicting requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Use Vendor Managed Inventory system to place orders for Goodyear internal and select external accounts based on their forecasted usage and current inventory. 
  • Collaborate with Raw Material Coordinators to make decisions on cost vs need for expedited short notice shipments.
  • Set up new customers to ensure flawless execution on first shipment. Gather requirements from customer, develop and determine appropriate shipping methods and packaging, participate in multifunctional new business due diligence meetings, and configure SAP customer master data.
  • Correspond with customers regarding any problems they may experience with Goodyear Chemical products or service.  Gather information for complete root cause analysis of the problem, then collaborate with responsible parties to ensure timely corrective action response to the customer. 
  • Make determination on return or disposition of goods and replacement balancing customer need and cost to Goodyear. 

 

Education:

  • Associates’ degree is required or, in lieu of a degree, 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • BS Degree desired.
     

Experience:

  • Three to five years customer focused experience in a fast paced environment. 
  • Logistics experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Self-Starter, motivated, product knowledge is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Agility to adapt quickly and easity to change.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks.
  • Ability to take ownership of work.
  • Abiliy to address issues as they arise.
