Position Description:

The Raw Materials Manager is responsible for managing all incoming raw materials and store room items.  This leader plays a key part in developing raw material plans for our Beaumont, Houston, and Bayport facilities, but can be located in either Houston or Beaumont.  Additionally, this position is responsible for measuring adherence to KPIs related to Supply and Customer Service from vendors.   In accordance with our Strategy Roadmap, Goodyear is looking for an individual that can help Promote Collaboration, Energize the Team, and Deliver Results.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure raw material plans are aligned to S&OP.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics of raw material and store inventory.
  • Lead team of raw material planners and ensure collaboration across planning and procurement.
  • Oversee store room activities to support plant operations and achieve KPI objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in alignment with Goodyear best practices.
  • Oversee divisional raw material/store room inventory and cycle counting.
  • Own and document standard work related to raw material and store room management. 
  • Ensure team alignment to plant leadership across plans and plants.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, engineering, computer science or related field required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing company in a supply chain function or operations management role with demonstrated capability of leading teams.
  • 5+ years' experience in supply chain/raw materials field.
  • Experience in a union environment (if applicable).
  • Experience in leading work across divisions & with external organizations.

 
Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication, problem solving & computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills.
  • Understands inventory strategy, product supply, deployment & production planning.
  • Strong understanding of business issues, metrics & customer value.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead & effectively manage meetings at the work group level, give clear & concise guidance in meetings
