About the Position


The SAP Business Process Architect will be the central point of contact Goodyear’s Chemical business partners and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of an IT roadmap for the Chemical business​.  Additionally, this role will drive the intake, demand, and prioritization process​, and will collect new business requirements and apply skillset to propose solutions.  This role will require an understanding of SAP supply chain functions including SAP MM/PP and will interface with the various IT application teams (regional and global) to validate and deliver solutions and ​will play a key role in the validation and testing of the resulting solutions.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze business/technical needs and translate process into practice through the current IT Tool Sets. Project involvement is multi-disciplinary and complex in scope. Identify opportunities to enhance existing operations using new IT Technology as a replacement for Legacy Systems manual effort.  
  • Implement new business/technical strategies through configuration interaction and creation of programing specifications. These specifications may be acted upon by the Business Process Architect or turned over to the IT Development Staff for assistance. 
  • Provide knowledge transfer on current technologies to stakeholders and junior level staff. Provide knowledge transfer on business/technical practice to junior level staff. 
  • Conduct full integration testing of new or changed business/technical processes (developing business). Prepare Technical Cycle Tests for use by stakeholder community. Document all process changes and write operational instructions work requirements. This documentation may serve as training material for the Business Process Consultant or stakeholder community.  
  • Provide adequate analyses and supporting documentation to enable management to develop effective work plans and project schedules (track to project plans and monitor results). Adjust priorities in order to accomplish objectives on time and under budget.  


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in related discipline or in lieu of degree 11 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Masters’ degree in related discipline desired.
  • 6 or more years of experience in functional work or IT support work in a specific business/technical process area.


Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Specific knowledge of the business/technical process area or IT support knowledge for a specific business/technical process area.
  • Must be capable of working under minimal supervision, being a Project Lead or Manager. Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Develop an understanding of Project Planning Tools.
  • Must possess Leadership, Organizational, Communication and Time Management Skills.
