Purpose of the position:
Manage and direct all laboratory activities for the plant quality assurance laboratory, which includes testing of raw materials, intermediate and finished product. Another key purpose is to work in conjunction with plant leadership team to ensure the plant metrics for safety environmental, quality, and cost are consistently met in the laboratory. This position will work with the site, division and corporate quality assurance management to ensure quality standards are maintained in the department in order to provide reproducible test results for process control.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of lab associates to insure accurate and timely completion of testing, as well as adherence to Goodyear policies and procedures.

Grade and Release all finished product within the plant. Also manage the GAR systems and interfaces as needed.

Manage quality systems including calibration and maintenance of equipment, customer required testing and adherence to quality standards.

Manage and upgrade, as needed, the laboratory information management system(s) for the plant. These systems promote accurate and timely reporting of data in an efficient manner.

Support plant functions as it pertains to the QA laboratory.
Education:
-
High school graduate

BS - Chemistry
Experience:
-
Minimum of four years’ experience in a laboratory or related function.

Experience in Supervision and auditing with good management and communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Knowledge of math, chemistry, computers, and ability to get along with others.

Basic understanding of chemical processes.
-
Requires strong management, communication and organizational skills.

Ability to handle and deal with conflict resolution.
-
Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
-
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel applications with ability to work with SAP, databases, and in-house programs.
